Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1: What does the “Optional VLAN function” do on the OPT-608?
The OPT-608 is typically an unmanaged plug-and-play switch. However, the optional VLAN configuration variant allows specific ports to be isolated from one another. This is particularly useful in security camera or multi-tenant setups to prevent broadcast storms and secure traffic streams without needing a complex managed switch.
Q2: Does this switch require any software configuration or drivers?
No. The OPT-608 is a true plug-and-play device. Simply connect the power adapter and network cables, and the switch automatically detects link speeds, duplex modes, and cable types with zero configuration required.
Q3: What are the best use cases for an 8-port 100M switch?
This switch is ideal for small office/home office (SOHO) networks, IP security camera deployments, VoIP phone systems, and basic local workgroup connections where gigabit speeds are not strictly required, offering maximum cost-efficiency and stability.
